SleepWave Privacy Policy

What this app collects, why it collects it, and what you can ask us to delete.

Effective date: August 25, 2026

SleepWave ("SleepWave," "we," "our," or "the app") is a sleep-sound, wind-down, and personal sleep-log app published by Gowalk. This policy explains what information the app handles, why it is handled, and the choices available to you.

Summary

SleepWave does not require an account and does not sell personal information. Your sleep log, notes, saved mixes, favorites, reminder settings, and locally activated review access remain on your device. We use limited analytics, crash diagnostics, device identifiers, and purchase-status information to operate and improve the app. We do not use that information for personalized advertising or cross-app tracking.

Information that stays on your device

The following information is stored locally using the app's device storage:

  • Bedtime and wake time, sleep duration, sleep-quality rating, and optional sleep notes.
  • Saved sound mixes, favorites, recent sounds, channel volumes, and timer settings.
  • Theme, reminder time, notification preference, and other app settings.
  • A local flag showing that a reusable review-access code was successfully activated, when applicable.

This information is not uploaded by SleepWave. It leaves the device only when you choose an operating-system action such as exporting the sleep log as a CSV file or sharing that export. You can erase it in Settings → Erase all data, and uninstalling the app also removes app-local data subject to your platform's backup behavior.

Information collected by app services

SleepWave uses Firebase services and an anonymous purchase-entitlement service. Depending on platform and device settings, these services may collect:

  • App interactions: events such as playing a sound, saving a mix, setting a timer, starting or completing a

wind-down routine, logging a night, viewing the paywall, purchasing, restoring, or enabling a reminder.

  • Approximate location: a coarse location derived from network information for aggregate analytics. SleepWave

does not request or collect precise location.

  • Device and other identifiers: an app-installation identifier and device identifiers used for app operation,

fraud prevention, attribution, and analytics. On Android, this can include an advertising-related identifier made available to analytics services. It is not used by SleepWave to display ads, personalize ads, or track you across other companies' apps or websites.

  • Purchase history and entitlement status: the product purchased, subscription status, restore result, and

related transaction state needed to unlock paid features and measure the purchase funnel.

  • Crash logs and diagnostics: crash traces, app version, device and operating-system details, performance state,

and related technical information needed to detect and fix failures.

SleepWave does not use these services to collect your name, email address, phone number, physical address, contacts, photos, videos, audio files, messages, calendar, browsing history, search history, precise location, or the contents of your sleep log and notes.

Why we use information

We use collected information to:

  • Deliver app functionality, restore purchases, and maintain subscription access.
  • Understand aggregate use of sounds, mixes, timers, routines, reminders, and the purchase funnel.
  • Diagnose crashes, reliability problems, and incompatible device behavior.
  • Secure the app and its supporting services against abuse and fraud.

Our legal bases, where applicable, are performance of the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and improving SleepWave, compliance with law, and consent where your jurisdiction requires it. Notification permission is requested only after you choose to enable the optional bedtime reminder.

Purchases

Apple processes App Store purchases and Google processes Google Play purchases. We do not receive your complete payment-card details. Those stores may process account, payment, tax, fraud-prevention, and transaction information under their own privacy policies. SleepWave receives only the transaction and entitlement information needed to provide and restore paid features.

Service providers and disclosures

We use service providers to operate SleepWave, including Google Firebase for analytics and crash reporting, Apple or Google for billing, and Gowalk services for hosted onboarding, paywall presentation, and anonymous entitlement delivery. These providers process information for the purposes described above and under contractual or platform rules. Network requests necessarily transmit an IP address and basic request metadata to the service being reached.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share information for third-party advertising. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect users or the service, in connection with a corporate transaction, or to vendors acting on our instructions. SleepWave has no advertising SDK and displays no third-party ads.

Retention and security

Device-local information remains until you erase it, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app, subject to any device backup you control. Analytics, crash, and transaction records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, security, legal obligations, and dispute resolution, according to the applicable provider's retention controls.

Information sent over the network is encrypted in transit using standard HTTPS/TLS. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices and rights

You can:

  • Decline the optional notification permission or disable reminders at any time.
  • Export your sleep log from Settings.
  • Erase saved mixes, favorites, and the sleep log from Settings.
  • Manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account.
  • Request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of remotely held information where local law grants

those rights.

Submit a privacy or deletion request through our support form: https://sleepwave-zq0t.pages.dev/p/sleepwave/support

Because SleepWave has no user account and most user-created information remains only on your device, we may be unable to identify an analytics record as yours without technical information that you provide. We will explain what can be located and deleted when responding to a request.

Children

SleepWave is intended for people aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under the applicable minimum age. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided information can contact us through the support form so we can investigate and delete it where possible.

International processing

Our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use legally recognized safeguards for international transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when SleepWave, its providers, or legal requirements change. The published policy will show the new effective date. Material changes will be communicated in the app or through another appropriate notice when required.
